Ensuring a rounded, Catholic education

The Year 1 Core Knowledge curriculum begins thus:

Building non-fiction background knowledge in a coherent and sequenced way within and across years can be accomplished most effectively by integrating the topics from history, geography, science and the arts…..into English Language and Literature.

We wholeheartedly agree: History, Geography, Art, Drama, Science and Music will all be taught with the aim not just of imparting facts but also of imbuing pupils with an interwoven  fabric of knowledge.

More than that, they will taught, where applicable, with reference to our Catholic heritage, particularly in History, Art, and Drama.

Outdoor activity is just as important as classroom learning and, as befits its patron, St. Joseph’s will involve a healthy amount of physical exercise.
